These results are provided by an address search api that compares the entered text with a huge address database and determines the best matches. Behind the scenes, this api also performs geocoding to convert the latitude and longitude of the entered text into geographic coordinates.
The Address Validation API validates the format of an address and fills in information missing or incorrect, standardizes it (in some cases), and cleans up the data to adhere to the official postal formats used in the country where the address is located. This is important to ensure that your users can enter addresses into your online forms and that the address data you receive is accurate. It also helps to improve address accuracy by providing feedback on validation responses.
The API response includes the formatted address as well as an array of tuples that provide information about each component of the address. Each component is tagged with a type, such as street, route, intersection, political, or other, that indicates the kind of data it contains. If the preferred language is not provided, the API uses the first available language to return the array.
